Cathy Wellings, Director of LSIC
Specialisms: Working across Cultures, Managing Virtual Teams, Intercultural Coaching
Cathy is an experienced intercultural trainer and coach. She has 25 years’ international experience of training, consultancy and management across the corporate, public and academic sectors. A French graduate, she has worked in France and Spain and worked with many global organisations including banks, legal and insurance firms, government departments and universities.
Cathy originally taught English as a foreign language in companies, universities and private language schools in Spain. She managed courses and teachers both in Spain and in the UK before joining a large intercultural training consultancy in 2003 where she oversaw the growth of its culture and communication business for ten years. In 2014 she took a sabbatical in India for three months before spending a year as an independent trainer and consultant.
Cathy enjoys working with individuals, teams and large groups helping them to develop their cultural sensitivity and ability to communicate more effectively in the global workplace. She is a qualified executive coach and licensed to use the International Profiler, an international management psychometric tool. She is a member of the Association of Coaching and on the board of SIETAR UK (the society for intercultural education, training and research).

Geraldine is an experienced training and coaching practitioner with a sales and marketing background in the insurance and financial services sectors. As a Master Practitioner in NLP she has a keen interest in personal development, communication and change management. She has worked in Sweden, France and Ireland and run projects in India, Zambia, Ghana, Spain, Ireland.
Geraldine’s career with the AVIVA Group spanned nearly twenty years culminating with her position as IFA Sales Manager. Her track record includes a consistent record of managing high performance teams and she has also been involved with numerous high level negotiations and change management transitions.
Geraldine is a trainer, coach and mentor for a number of international organisations. She enjoys working with people who have to perform in pressured and stressful situations and her City background enables her to empathise with the pressures of delivering results in challenging environments.

Bill is the Managing Consultant of a consultancy specialising in helping western and east Asian managers work together more effectively. He is also an intercultural management consultant, coach, researcher, trainer and speaker with 30 years’ international experience.
In the late 1970s, Bill joined a UK-based training company specialising in management communication across national boundaries. In the early 1980s he became the sales manager for Asia and then set up an Asian subsidiary based in Tokyo.
On his return to Europe, Bill pioneered successful entry into the cross-cultural training market, designing and developing specific and generic courses focused on doing business in Asia. In the 1990s, Bill took on a number of senior management responsibilities including periods as General Manager in Italy and as Sales and Marketing Director worldwide. From 1997 until 2001, he was President of the Japanese subsidiary.
In 2001, Bill decided to devote all his energies to his main area of interest, namely, intercultural management effectiveness.

Rani is an experienced soft skills and intercultural trainer and coach with 40 years’ global experience as an educator. She divides her time between India and the UK and has also worked in Japan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Qatar, Dubai and Morocco. She has worked with global corporations, government departments, universities and charities.
Rani spent 12 years living in Tokyo where she worked in the university sector as a lecturer and teacher trainer. On her return to the UK she took various teaching positions before joining Stafford House where she became the Vice Principal responsible for running an international college. Since 2007 Rani has combined a series of short term international consultancy and training roles for the British Council with her own learning and development consultancy.
Rani is also a published author and experienced theatre director. She is an NLP Master Practitioner and is passionate about helping individuals and organisations to achieve their full potential.

Joyce is an intercultural and leadership trainer and coach with over 30 years’ experience of global business. She grew up in Pakistan, India and Thailand, studied in China and has lived and worked in France, Japan and Singapore. She has worked with global corporate, government, educational and non-profit organisations across South East Asia, Europe and the U.S.
Joyce’s management experience includes ten years as Executive-Director of a UK government initiative to promote links between industry and education and two years as Business Development and Marketing Director for a prestigious international arts body. She spent three years in Japan working for the communications department at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and for Toyota Motor Corporation designing and facilitating development programmes for their senior executives managing global teams. Based in Singapore for nearly ten years, she designed and delivered intercultural business development programmes and leadership coaching around the Asia-Pacific region. She was also an adjunct faculty member at the Center for Creative Leadership and a Research Associate at INSEAD.
Joyce shares her deep knowledge of Asian culture and its impact on business with organisations located or doing business in the Asia Pacific region through intercultural training, leadership development or coaching initiatives. She also regularly publishes articles on international business and is President of the Society for Intercultural Education Training and Research (SIETAR) UK.

Heike is a German national, based in the UK. She is an experienced trainer, consultant and executive coach with a post-graduate diploma in Intercultural Management and diploma in executive coaching. She has delivered programmes for major corporations across a wide range of industries, from pharmaceuticals to logistics, and at all levels of seniority.
Heike’s background is in the IT industry with roles in technical marketing and sales. She also worked as a translator before moving into the intercultural field in 2001 since when she has gained a wealth of experience supporting organisations, teams and individuals in transition.
As a coach and trainer, Heike believes that individuals from different backgrounds are able to make unique contributions to a team or organisation. Harnessing these strengths and building an environment of mutual respect and understanding allows organisations and individuals to harness the benefits of diversity, develop a global mindset and succeed in an international environment.

Jackie has worked as a communication trainer and intercultural consultant for over 25 years. She has delivered tailor-made courses for corporate clients across a range of sectors including banking, aviation and consumer goods throughout Europe and West Africa. She has worked with politicians and government employees in Scandinavia.
Jackie held a management role with a training consultancy between 1990 and 2014 where she worked on large scale development projects, spoke regularly at conferences and also co-authored a book on virtual working.
Now an independent trainer she trains executives and expatriates from around the world and has a particular passion for training in digital skills and virtual communication. She is certified to use a number of intercultural training tools and is studying to become an executive coach.

Sunit is a cross-cultural consultant specialising in relationships between Indian and US/European companies. He has a background in engineering and has worked international business development in India, Austria and the UK.
Sunit graduated in electrical engineering from the University of Mumbai and spent 17 years working in business development roles in Japan, Austria and the UK with responsibility for sales and marketing developing business relationships and partnerships, brand building and commercial negotiations.
Sunit has been providing a range of consultancy and training services to Indian, British, American and European organisations for 20 years. He has worked with international banks, financial institutions and engineering and manufacturing companies and has trained several thousand professionals through one-to-one programmes, group workshops and webinars.
